  • Merrell K. Kauwe, DPM

    Dr. Kauwe was born in Hawaii, but raised much of his life in Utah. He received his bachelors degree in biology at Utah Valley University. He received his professional degree from the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Kauwe completed a three year surgical residency at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA. While in school, and as a resident, Dr. Kauwe was involved in researching a new paradigm and approach to bunion surgery. He and his collaborator's work is represented in the philosophy behind the Lapiplasty surgery, correcting bunions in all cardinal planes of the body as well as at the primary level of the deformity.

    Dr. Kauwe is board qualified in foot surgery as well as rearfoot and ankle reconstruction. He treats patients of all ages.

    He is married to Genevieve and has three children, Jacob, David, and, Kalei.

  • Scott G. DeMars, DPM

    Dr. DeMars was raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin and moved to Billings with his family in 1979. He graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. After a podiatric surgical residency at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM, he started his Billings practice in 1988. In 1993, Dr. DeMars joined Dr. O'Reilly to form Rimrock Podiatry.

    Dr. Demars is a past president of the Montana Podiatric Medical Association, a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has privileges at St Vincent Hospital, Yellowstone Surgery Center and Northern Rockies Surgery Center in Billings. Dr. DeMars also sees patients at the Mountainview Clinic in Red Lodge.

    Dr. DeMars has two adult sons, Brandon and Ryan. He is an avid big game hunter and also enjoys backpacking, hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Dr. DeMars resides in Red Lodge where his wife Barbra runs Two Bears Inn, a bed and breakfast.

  • Zachary Lubek, DPM

    Dr. Lubek is a Montana native raised in Helena. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Portland State University where he played four years of Division 1 Tennis. It was there that he developed an appreciation for injuries of the lower extremity. Dr. Lubek attended medical school in Chicago at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, then completed his three-year Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency at Regions Hospital/Health Partners Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dr. Lubek is Board qualified in Forefoot and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle surgery. He has particular interests in treatment of arthritic conditions, sports medicine, arthroscopy, diabetic limb salvage, and trauma surgery.

    In his free time, he enjoys all things outdoors including hiking, biking, camping, skiing, tennis and golf. He is happy  to be settled back into his home state and the Billings community with his wife Lyndsie, his baby Lola and their English Bulldog, Harvey.
